When I was 6 years old I got an orange-golden bike. When I became 10 my dad took me to the bike shop to let me pick out a brand new bike because I was getting a tad to tall for my old one. I refused to pick a new bike… I just couldn’t let my favorite old bike behind. I got kinda attached to the damn little thingie and in my mind I wasn’t ready to give it up. I got a very nice Playmobil set…Continue Reading “Triumph Trophy SE Lounge edition Day 1”

Well, first of all : Big thanks to TC Moto Zaventem for inviting me to the VIP launch in Mechelen organised by Triumph Benelux. On Friday the 28th of September Triumph organised a special VIP event in Hotel Martin’s Patershof where they gave a sneak-peak to a selected crew of Triumph fanatics. I could tell you about the delicious catering and the quite generous amount of beverages that were offered but I don’t think you will be interested in that. So let me tell you…Continue Reading “Triumph Trophy 2013 : first real life impressions.”

We already had the sneak peak in one of my previous posts but now the new Trophy 2013 is officially presented to the press. For more flat journalist reading and copy pasting of the official brochure I would recommend the article on motorcycle.com (http://www.motorcycle.com/manufacturer/triumph/2013-triumph-trophy-se-preview-91318.html) or the article on visordown.com (http://www.visordown.com/motorcycle-news-new-bikes/revealed-2013-triumph-trophy-1200/20889.html). I’m not going to add much to what is said in those articles but allow me to comment on 2 facts : pricing and availability. The official price will be announced in September it seems…Continue Reading “Triumph Trophy 2013 finally presented to the press”

The fact that I’m reaching the 70.000 km mark on my Sprint ST is…Continue Reading “The new triumph Trophy 2013 model…finally what I was waiting for”

Sprint ST model 2007
Trip to Durbuy in May 2007

Well, I’m almost there…almost 50.000 km done on my Triumph Sprint ST. I bought this bike 3 years ago (February 2007) and it has never let me down since then. I’m a regular driver who uses his bike mainly (almost exclusively) for professional means. During the weekend I don’t have a lot of opportunities to go drive in the beautiful region of Huy and the Ardennes that are not so far from where I live. Just to tell you that I’m not the classic weekend warrior who is polishing his bike from morning till noon and then goes for long rides through senic landscapes (I wished).

I have chosen the Triumph Sprint ST for several reasons and I would like to share them with you so that it might help if you ever have to make a choice for a bike that will at the same time be used for professional home-work traffic but that can also be used for good leisure trips. My main criteria at the time where :

  • Budget
  • Test-Drive
  • Reliability
