Well, not much to say because we have been relaxing the hell out of ourselves the last days. The B&B we are staying at is magnificent…truly beautiful so the only thin I can do is show some pictures and let you disover it by yourselves.
During the weekend the Como Lake is busier than the Ring of Brussels on a Monday morning. Every tourist rents a boat or goes on a ferry. So if you want calm… go somewhere else. Motorboats are going in all directions and this from 10 AM until 18 PM. If you get cranky because your neighbour is cutting his lawn with a good old fashioned 200 dB jet fueled lawnmower… don’t come here either. Otherwise : have fun at the Como Lake where you only…Continue Reading “Day 3 : afternoon on the Como lake”
After we dropped our luggage at our B&B in Laglio we quickly went to meet Kristan at the nearby village of Sala Comacina where the gang of Sportievak was ending their week of wakeboarding. Well, I can only say this… if you have kids who like to waterski or wakeboard, or who would like to learn it : go and take a look at the website of Sportievak : https://sportievak.be/sportdagen/como-sportievak/. They have a house on the hills of the Como lake with a view even George…Continue Reading “Day 2 : Arrival at Laglio and Sala Comacina”
Well, after a refreshing stay in Colmar we started our journey to Laglio in Italy. One of the superchargers we passed is really worth mentionning because it is known amongst Tesla-drivers as one of the most beautiful in Europe. It was not a lie… The supercharger is located at Beckenried just in front of the beautiful Vierwaldstättersee. I think some pictures are needed : As you can see… a nice place to have a cup of coffee while charging your and the car’s battery. The…Continue Reading “Day 2 : trip to Laglio”
Here we go again. Our summer vacation in 2018 to France – Italy – France – Spain – France has begun. Again a bit of a road trip and of course again with our Tesla, although this time it’s a new one. Yup, we sold the other one last Christmas and decided to go for a new Model X. Natalia decided to spent her vacation at home to do some student jobs in order to earn some money for her upcoming trip to Croatia so…Continue Reading “Day 1 : Trip to Colmar”
Just before the Mobile Internet falls away, a quick post : we have boarded our ferry. And we start in style :-). And a quick view of the outside of our window :
Day 17-18-19 : Arrival in Oslo at hotel Lysebu Sorry for the delay this time but we have been rather busy. First things first, when you plan to come to Oslo, puhleeese stay in Hotel Lysebu in the mountains with a stunning view on Oslo. Price-quality : unbeatable (opt for the slightly larger junior suites, worth the money) : http://www.lysebu.no/. Just watch this movie and be charmed : They also have a chicken shed with quite peculiar chickens. We baptised them “poedelkiekens” (fluffy chickens). Take…Continue Reading “Day 17-18-19 : Arrival in Oslo at hotel Lysebu”
Norwegians love their flag, it’s literally everywhere. Before building a house they first erect the flagpole in the garden I guess. Also at our cabin in Bjorli the flag was ready for hoisting. This inspired us to write a small post on a few traditional foods we discovered during our stay. In one of our stops at the local supermarket Valérie decided to try the infamous Huldreost. It’s a brown cheese made with mountain herbs and aquavit and is a part of the Brunost family (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brunost)….Continue Reading “Norwegian Tradition!”
Woopsie, a bit cold this morning in Bjorli but in the land of the vikings we consider this a challenge! In Norway only pussies lay next to the swimming pool and drink cocktails. Norwegians climb mountains or swim in ice-cold fjords, so today we climbed a mountain (the Bøverbotten) to go and take a look at the lake Bøvervatnet. There is a path that gently climbs the slopes to bring you to the 1050 meter high lake but alas…. The Van Den Kieboomkes decided to…Continue Reading “Day 16 : Climbing the Bøverbotten”
We travelled further inland after Trondheim. This is clearly the wetter part of our holiday but as Norway seems to prove : “After rain comes sunshine and then rain again”. It’s colder here on the mainland but the scenery is as beautiful as ever. You can see a small video of the scenery below, nothing special but just a classic view when you are driving in the mainland. The first day in Bjorli (which is a ski-station in the winter) we relaxed and besides some…Continue Reading “Day 14+15 : Bjorli”
